Abádszalók
Abádszalók is located in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, in the Northern Great Plain region, on the banks of Lake Tisza, between Tiszafüred and Szolnok. Abádszalók is the most developed tourist center of Lake Tisza, a settlement of about 5,000 people. The settlement was established in 1896 with the merger of Tiszaabád and Tiszaszalók.
The establishment of Lake Tisza and the construction of the Kisköre water stairs have made significant changes in the life of the settlement. Of the artificially created floodplains of 127 square kilometers of the Tisza Lake islands, 14 square kilometers are found in Abádszalók. As a result, water sports, fishing and hunting lovers have now become paradise.

A place where the fish on Lake Tisza travel on stairs
On the border of Abádszalók and Kisköre is the fishway, the largest ecological corridor in Central Europe.
Walking at Lake Tisza, it’s worth visiting this special place. The nearly 1400-meter-long channel provides fish throughout the year between the Tisza Lake and the Tisza River. So far, more than 40 fish species have been observed here.
Through the window under the dam of the fishway, we can easily observe the movement of the fish. The refreshment point next to the dam is ideal for cyclists and hikers.

Approach
Abádszalók can be approached from several directions on inferior public roads.
It can be reached from the direction of the main road No. 4 from the secondary main road No. 34 (touching Kunhegyes).
From the direction of the M3 motorway, leaving the motorway at the Nagyfüged exit through Heves and Kisköre, or also on the M3 motorway at the Füzesabony-Dormánd exit on highway number 33 going until Tiszafüred, and from there you can reach it by a secondary road (touching Tiszaszőlős and Tiszaderzs).
